Love What You Do Stamp Set

This week on Facebook I shared 7 samples using the Love What You Do Stamp Set and the coordinating Share What You Love Designer Series Paper.  We can get stuck thinking of ideas and ways to use a stamp set so I wanted to focus on it and share some samples.  Also, with the Holiday Catalog in your hands now (if not, let me know) and another order due on my porch tomorrow (Yeah!), I will likely start focusing on Fall and then holidays so I don’t want to forget the wonderful products in our Annual Catalog.

Day 7 of Love What You Do Stamp Set featured a special card created by Kay Corredato for my birthday yesterday. It is lovely!

Kay mentioned she saw the card and another on Pinterest and changed it up to make it her own. Like many of us do! Creating is easy! As we move through the new product and Holiday Season I would love to share your creations too!!

Ready for Fall Colors and Leaves

The 2018 Holiday Catalog is out so I am ready for Fall Colors and Leaves! I did a small order so that I could receive my Holiday Catalog with the order because it is so hard to see all the items and fine details looking at the Catalog online in PDF format.  Oh WOW, my list is sooooo long now. There are so many beautiful AND FUN items in the catalog. I love that many of the stamps and sentiments are versatile for other occasions not just Fall, Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Those of you that have ordered from me will be receiving your copy in the next week or so.  If you don’t have a demonstrator and are visiting this page, please let me know and I would be happy to mail you a copy.

I have been feeling a little low, no stamping mojo lately but Fall colors just perk me up! Also, playing with new products like the items in the Country Lane Suite really improved my mood for stamping. I used the Country Home stamp set for this card.

I wish I had seen and ordered the Galvanized Metallic Paper, new in the Holiday Catalog.  I think it would have been a great background but I do love the way the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder in Crushed Curry turned out. I gently spritzed it with water, as recommended for all the Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. (This prevents cracks in the cardstock due to the deep impressions.) The details from the Tin Tiles impressions are awesome! I added a small piece of the Chicken Wire Elements to the left side of the card.

I ordered a few of the new Stampin’ Blends in the Holiday Catalog to add to my complete set of Stampin’ Blends colors added this year in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog but I missed Blackberry Bliss Combo Pack. No worries, I will be placing another order this weekend! There are just too many items to order, so I will be ordering frequently so that I can pace myself for sharing the new items (and my wallet LOL).

Don’t forget that the all new Blended Seasons Bundle with coordinating stamps and Framelits and Watercolor Pencils (new colors) is available for a limited time to customers this month (and while supplies last). I have been using the label Framelits for cards that I have posted and cards we made at Stamp Night the last week of July.  I just love the Framelits! There are three sizes so if you like to make layers on cards, they are perfect.  Since I am posting Fall Colors and Leaves, I used the leaves stamp from the Bundle to create the image for the front of the card.

Lastly, don’t forget August is Bonus Days! For every $50 you spend you get a $5 coupon to use on an order in September (just in time for your Holiday Catalog)!  Don’t misplace the coupon when you receive it in email from Stampin’Up!, you must save the coupon code to get your discounts!

Stay tuned for lots of updates regarding these amazing Holiday Catalog items.

Next Stamp Night – August 27, my craft studio from 6 – 9 p.m.

This blog post is similar to my newsletter for today’s version, since I haven’t sent one in awhile due to travel and prepping for Stamp Night in July. But if you want to be sure to be informed of specials and other events, be sure to scroll to the bottom right of this blog and you will see the button to subscribe to my newsletter. I don’t send email updates of blog posts, just my newsletter so that there are not too many emails from me. I will be posting cards and product details on the blog. The newsletter will be for other updates with card sample pictures only.

You can visit my Demonstrator Site to order items seen in the Product List below, except the new Holiday Items, those won’t be posted online until September 5.  Click here to visit my site.

Repeating Pattern Techniques

Repeating Pattern Techniques are an easy way to create wreaths and elegant designs on cards. Using stamping tools like Stampin’Up!’s Stamparatus or the MISTI help with precision alignment.  Using square pieces of cardstock create a wreath or circle appearance. In my card sample, I wanted to use my typical layering size pieces of cardstock so it created more of an elongated design.  Do what make you happy! There is no right or wrong.

I also received the new bundle of Blended Seasons and Stitched Seasons Framelit Dies earlier this month. These are pre-order items for demonstrators in July and will be available for you to order August 1.

This is just a practice image, I didn’t create a card. I wanted to try the largest stitched die (love it!) and stamped the largest flower image. I used Stampin’ Blender markers on the pink flowers (my attempt to represent the beautiful little Proven Winner Superbells I have in a pot on the patio). I also used the markers for the various greens on the leaves. I used the Gorgeous Grape from the new Watercolor Pencils and a blender pen to smooth out the pencil lines. I stamped a leaf branch in Flirty Flamingo on Flirty Flamingo Cardstock.

It is going to be a fun set for Fall and Winter!

Speaking of Fall and Winter – can you believe it, the Holiday Catalog will be available to demonstrators this next week. I’ve seen some sneak peeks from demonstrators on the Alaskan Incentive Cruise, Holidays are never a disappointment with Stampin’Up!  We’ll be able to order August 1 and customers September 1.  Fall is my season, so I am really looking forward to it!

Join my team, there isn’t a better time than right now, new demonstrators (besides getting all the early perks and peeks like I do) will receive a free assortment of 10 Classic Stampin’ Pads along with the “regular” starter package of $125 product for $99 and free shipping. The free colors are from the Brights, Neutrals, Regals, Subtles and 2017-2019 In Colors. What a great way to build your stamp pad assortment! But you must join by July 31 to take advantage of this offer.

Playing with color

I think some of the reasons that we get involved with paper crafting and making cards is that we have fun playing with color, creating something unique for someone special vs going to the store and picking out a card. We add heart, soul and love in each project, unless we get hung up on trying to be perfect and different. I am taking a painting class and it is amazing how it mirrors things going on in my life and how I lost some of my creative playful spirit. But more about that in a minute.

I received a new order yesterday, I wanted to get some of the new Stampin’ Blends markers and stock up on more of the new cardstock colors. I also added the All The Good Things stamp set to my order. I love some of the sentiments, they are really aligned with focus that I want my stamping to take.

So I decided to take the koi image (koi are symbols of love and friendship in Japan) and use some of the Stampin’ Blends.  The stamp image is one of Stampin’ Up!’s Distinktive stamps (deep etched images that create beautiful impressions when used). I stamped in Memento Black ink and then just colored the lighter shaded areas with the markers.

So more about playing with color… I found an online art class teaching a specific style of mixed media art. When I was in the registration process I read that the artist teaching the course recommended that we take a mixed media mantra course first.  Either way, my intention was to free up my creative spirit, worry less about what others are creating with their stamps and focus on expressing my spirit more. So, I signed up for that course, watched the intro and ordered all kinds of art supplies (Yes, more art supplies! But not to worry, I will be able to use my stamps, retired designer papers, and more in this process!) It is truly an amazing experience, all the pre-work before we paint our first mixed media mantra painting is perfectly aligned with the counseling I am going through, journaling I have been doing and my return to a chiropractor to heal my physical body too. It is teaching me to let go, be playful and unlearn restrictive thought patterns so that I can return to the deeper journey of rediscovering who I am and what I want to become.

Tonight’s exercise was just playing with paint with water, brayers and our fingers! I was covered in paint and loved it! I’ll keep you posted along the way. I’m curious to watch the changes in my paper crafting as a result of taking the course.

My intention for tonight’s exercise was “Play, Have Fun”

Happy Independence Day

Happy Independence Day to all who are receiving this in email or viewing the post on my website. I hope you had a marvelous day.  We celebrate our independence and no matter how much we disagree or have opposing views, the fact is that we can have them. We can have civil (well, most of us!) discussions and debates, and are all free to believe what we choose.  Men and women have fought to protect that right and there are men and women who continue to fight to defend that freedom (my nephew included!). I am forever grateful that my grandparents were immigrants to the US!

In honor of that celebration, I created this card today (on the 4th, some of you are seeing this on Thursday, the 5th via email). A fellow demonstrator saw the card, or something similar, on Pinterest and shared it. I’ve seen a couple of versions so far. We all see ideas, share our creations and then change it slightly based on our style or personality.

The card uses the Waterfront stamp set and the Celebrate framelit in silver glimmer paper.  I also added a star and then used pearl embellishments instead of embossing stars or using silver glitter.

I have a personal update before I share some Stampin’Up! news for July.  I am going to continue to post cards and updates on this blog, Facebook and Instagram.  Facebook and Instagram are the easiest and I love to post there! I mentioned once before that I was trying to find a difference between email newsletters and my blog posts. So after this blog post in email, I am going to turn off the connection to the email.  You have the link from the email, so check in weekly and you will see the new blog posts. I am working on ideas for my stamping, journaling and newsletters so if you stay on my list, you will see new items when I am ready to send them. I hope you will follow along all these places.

New Stampin’ Blends Colors Are Here!

I placed an order for most of the new colors last week, I can’t wait to try them. I’ll get the rest this month.  I used Stampin’ Blends to color the flower and leaves on this card. I saw a technique by an artist for another company on Facebook last night that I thought was so pretty and very easy! She simply stamped a flower image and then outlined the stamp vs. coloring it with watercolor pencils or blending tools. I used the flower image from Petal Palette stamp set because of the dark bold lines.  I like the way it turned out but I would like to order other flower images and try again.

Product List

Stay tuned later this month a new stamp set and framelit bundle was made available to demonstrators on the 1st.  (Of course I ordered it!) Customers will be able to pre-order, while supplies last, in August. So far Stampin’Up! is only saying the stamp set might carry over to a catalog.  It will be great for general sentiments as well as Fall and Holiday greetings. I will share details as soon as I receive the bundle.

Another card in honor of the 4th that I created for my nephew, the stamp is by Tim Holtz.
