National Coffee Day

I hope you enjoyed a cup of coffee today for National Coffee Day (if you are a coffee drinker). I have shared some info on my personal Facebook page but please use Fair Trade Certified or companies aligned with the Rainforest Alliance when you purchase coffee. Every cup makes a difference!

I reposted a card from last Fall this a.m on social media but wanted to make another coffee card tonight while I was working on some birthday cards. I used the Cup of Christmas Cheer bundle but added an old sentiment for Fall and used a colorful background and leaves from the August Paper Pumpkin Kit. I usually don’t make all the cards or projects when the Paper Pumpkin kits arrive so the pieces come in handy for other cards.

While you look and make lists from the Holiday Catalog don’t forget the awesome stamp sets in the Annual Catalog. I used the Good Morning Magnolia stamps to create this birthday card and coordinating envelope. I love to use my Stampin Blends to color this flower!

Speaking of the Magnolia Bundle, the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper is one of the choices for the Buy 3, get one Free offer which ends Monday, September 30.

Lastly, I corrected on my blog but caught a typo in email so I am adding the Fall quote again.

Autumn is a second Spring, when every leaf becomes a flower.  Albert Camus

Fall Colors

Fall colors, my absolute favorite time of year. The bright oranges, yellows, reds and various shades of gold and brown make everything seem alive again after the heat of summer. Then add vibrant funky Halloween colors…love it!

I hope you have received and are enjoying the Holiday Catalog. I have neglected posting here, focusing more on Facebook and Instagram. I will try to do better as I know some of you don’t use those social media sites.

I have just a couple of updates and then this was intended to share a couple of cards using products from the Holiday Catalog.

This month Stampin’Up has a special Buy 3 get one Free special of select Designer Series Paper. It ends Monday, the 30th so don’t miss out!

Also, the new Stampin’Up Paper Trimmer will be available soon, time period to be determined. (However, Preorder for demonstrators is in October). It looks nice, very similar to our trimmer that was just discontinued. I like that it has a long arm that extend out for anything longer than 6 inches.

I will post a couple of cards below but I think my favorite is the one I made today. I had posted cards designed by the Stampin’Up Artisan Team on Facebook and wanted to CASE (copy and share everything) one of them. They said they used the Tree Punch in the Holiday Catalog, which I have, but when I looked closely I saw they used a tree die, not a punch. So improvise and keep going!

This was the Christmas card that used the punch instead of the die, so I had to add gold behind it since the tree from the punch is so much smaller than the tree from the die.

Just a couple of others…

Happy Independence Day

Happy Independence Day to all who are receiving this in email or viewing the post on my website. I hope you had a marvelous day.  We celebrate our independence and no matter how much we disagree or have opposing views, the fact is that we can have them. We can have civil (well, most of us!) discussions and debates, and are all free to believe what we choose.  Men and women have fought to protect that right and there are men and women who continue to fight to defend that freedom (my nephew included!). I am forever grateful that my grandparents were immigrants to the US!

In honor of that celebration, I created this card today (on the 4th, some of you are seeing this on Thursday, the 5th via email). A fellow demonstrator saw the card, or something similar, on Pinterest and shared it. I’ve seen a couple of versions so far. We all see ideas, share our creations and then change it slightly based on our style or personality.

The card uses the Waterfront stamp set and the Celebrate framelit in silver glimmer paper.  I also added a star and then used pearl embellishments instead of embossing stars or using silver glitter.

I have a personal update before I share some Stampin’Up! news for July.  I am going to continue to post cards and updates on this blog, Facebook and Instagram.  Facebook and Instagram are the easiest and I love to post there! I mentioned once before that I was trying to find a difference between email newsletters and my blog posts. So after this blog post in email, I am going to turn off the connection to the email.  You have the link from the email, so check in weekly and you will see the new blog posts. I am working on ideas for my stamping, journaling and newsletters so if you stay on my list, you will see new items when I am ready to send them. I hope you will follow along all these places.

New Stampin’ Blends Colors Are Here!

I placed an order for most of the new colors last week, I can’t wait to try them. I’ll get the rest this month.  I used Stampin’ Blends to color the flower and leaves on this card. I saw a technique by an artist for another company on Facebook last night that I thought was so pretty and very easy! She simply stamped a flower image and then outlined the stamp vs. coloring it with watercolor pencils or blending tools. I used the flower image from Petal Palette stamp set because of the dark bold lines.  I like the way it turned out but I would like to order other flower images and try again.

Product List

Stay tuned later this month a new stamp set and framelit bundle was made available to demonstrators on the 1st.  (Of course I ordered it!) Customers will be able to pre-order, while supplies last, in August. So far Stampin’Up! is only saying the stamp set might carry over to a catalog.  It will be great for general sentiments as well as Fall and Holiday greetings. I will share details as soon as I receive the bundle.

Another card in honor of the 4th that I created for my nephew, the stamp is by Tim Holtz.

Welcome Little One to this world!

Welcome Little One to this world!  What an adorable way to send a baby welcome than with the new Animal Outing Stamp Set.  It is such a sweet set and the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper helps create cute backgrounds, trims, patterns to fussy cut or use in scrapbook pages.

We are so excited waiting for our first baby in the family. My niece Maureen and her husband Ben are waiting for Baby Holmes on July 1, so you may be seeing a lot of baby cards as I play and experiment with different cards! I can’t wait!

Animal Expedition DSP is one of the papers that will be offered in the Buy 3 get 1 Free special in July. Take a look online or in the catalog (stamp set and DSP on page 27 of the Annual Catalog) to start planning all the ways you will use this paper!

Whole Lot of Lovely

I hope you enjoyed my slight departure from daily Stampin’ Up! posts regarding my theatre day this weekend. Unfortunately Les Miserables ended but if it returns, make sure to see it.  It is probably my favorite musical so I was so happy to see it before it ended.  To have the opportunity to stay and see Hamilton at night was amazing! It may have taken a top spot on my favorite list. It is awesome, if you live in Illinois make sure to see it before it leaves Chicago in March.  It is crazy how fast time is flying by and one other thing you don’t want to miss is the end of the Buy Three, Get One Free Designer Series Paper special.  It ends on Tuesday, October 31.  I will post the papers that can be ordered as part of the special below.  But today, I am featuring one of the designs from Whole Lot of Lovely DSP. This flower pattern is one of my favorite of the designs.

For those new to Stampin’ Up! 12×12 Designer Series Paper packs, there are 12 sheets, 2 sheets of each of 6 double-sided designs (unless it is a foil sheet, then single-sided). The Paper Stacks, such as the Wood Textures DSP stack including in this special, are different. They have 48 sheets, four 6×6 sheets each of 12 double-sided designs.

Pumpkin latte please!

I turned the news on to see the weather forecast for the weekend, we’re going to get cooler weather in Illinois beginning Sunday.  I’ll take a Pumpkin latte please!

I am really in the mood for Fall weather and sweaters. I have enjoyed the cool nights the past week or so. So, today’s card has lots of Fall colors and falling leaves.

I used the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper as the swirling background on Pumpkin Pie cardstock. This is one of the Designer Series Paper selections in the Buy 3, get 1 Free until the end of the month.  Click here to see the other DSP selections.

I love the Merry Cafe stamp set with a nice mix of stamps for Fall and Winter coffee breaks. I used the leaf thinlets from the Seasonal Layers Thinlet Dies.

Paper Pumpkin Update

If you liked yesterday’s October Paper Pumpkin Holiday Shaker Card, let me know if you want a kit.  For the first time ever, instead of refill kits to subscribers, we will be allowed to order entire kits.  This means the stamp set will be included. It has gotten such great reviews, the Stampin’ Up! team is allowing us to order complete sets.  They will be available to us on Monday, October 23 but I don’t expect inventory to last very long.
