The 2018 Holiday Catalog is out so I am ready for Fall Colors and Leaves! I did a small order so that I could receive my Holiday Catalog with the order because it is so hard to see all the items and fine details looking at the Catalog online in PDF format. Oh WOW, my list is sooooo long now. There are so many beautiful AND FUN items in the catalog. I love that many of the stamps and sentiments are versatile for other occasions not just Fall, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Those of you that have ordered from me will be receiving your copy in the next week or so. If you don’t have a demonstrator and are visiting this page, please let me know and I would be happy to mail you a copy.
I have been feeling a little low, no stamping mojo lately but Fall colors just perk me up! Also, playing with new products like the items in the Country Lane Suite really improved my mood for stamping. I used the Country Home stamp set for this card.
I wish I had seen and ordered the Galvanized Metallic Paper, new in the Holiday Catalog. I think it would have been a great background but I do love the way the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder in Crushed Curry turned out. I gently spritzed it with water, as recommended for all the Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. (This prevents cracks in the cardstock due to the deep impressions.) The details from the Tin Tiles impressions are awesome! I added a small piece of the Chicken Wire Elements to the left side of the card.
I ordered a few of the new Stampin’ Blends in the Holiday Catalog to add to my complete set of Stampin’ Blends colors added this year in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog but I missed Blackberry Bliss Combo Pack. No worries, I will be placing another order this weekend! There are just too many items to order, so I will be ordering frequently so that I can pace myself for sharing the new items (and my wallet LOL).
Don’t forget that the all new Blended Seasons Bundle with coordinating stamps and Framelits and Watercolor Pencils (new colors) is available for a limited time to customers this month (and while supplies last). I have been using the label Framelits for cards that I have posted and cards we made at Stamp Night the last week of July. I just love the Framelits! There are three sizes so if you like to make layers on cards, they are perfect. Since I am posting Fall Colors and Leaves, I used the leaves stamp from the Bundle to create the image for the front of the card.
Lastly, don’t forget August is Bonus Days! For every $50 you spend you get a $5 coupon to use on an order in September (just in time for your Holiday Catalog)! Don’t misplace the coupon when you receive it in email from Stampin’Up!, you must save the coupon code to get your discounts!
Stay tuned for lots of updates regarding these amazing Holiday Catalog items.
Next Stamp Night – August 27, my craft studio from 6 – 9 p.m.
This blog post is similar to my newsletter for today’s version, since I haven’t sent one in awhile due to travel and prepping for Stamp Night in July. But if you want to be sure to be informed of specials and other events, be sure to scroll to the bottom right of this blog and you will see the button to subscribe to my newsletter. I don’t send email updates of blog posts, just my newsletter so that there are not too many emails from me. I will be posting cards and product details on the blog. The newsletter will be for other updates with card sample pictures only.
You can visit my Demonstrator Site to order items seen in the Product List below, except the new Holiday Items, those won’t be posted online until September 5. Click here to visit my site.

I turned the news on to see the weather forecast for the weekend, we’re going to get cooler weather in Illinois beginning Sunday. I’ll take a Pumpkin latte please!
I am really in the mood for Fall weather and sweaters. I have enjoyed the cool nights the past week or so. So, today’s card has lots of Fall colors and falling leaves.
I used the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper as the swirling background on Pumpkin Pie cardstock. This is one of the Designer Series Paper selections in the Buy 3, get 1 Free until the end of the month. Click here to see the other DSP selections.
I love the Merry Cafe stamp set with a nice mix of stamps for Fall and Winter coffee breaks. I used the leaf thinlets from the Seasonal Layers Thinlet Dies.
Paper Pumpkin Update
If you liked yesterday’s October Paper Pumpkin Holiday Shaker Card, let me know if you want a kit. For the first time ever, instead of refill kits to subscribers, we will be allowed to order entire kits. This means the stamp set will be included. It has gotten such great reviews, the Stampin’ Up! team is allowing us to order complete sets. They will be available to us on Monday, October 23 but I don’t expect inventory to last very long.

Did you have a Sheltering Tree growing up? For me it was the large Maple in the back yard of our family home – it provided lovely shade, we fed and were entertained by the squirrels and a large variety of birds and the leaves, oh boy, the leaves every Fall. I also remember the small evergreen my grandmother planted when I was in grade school. I still have a picture of it waist high. Now the tree towers over my brother’s home on the property. It is showing signs of age after 50+ years. It is hard to imagine a time that it won’t be standing there.
Now I have a tree of my own. I planted it for the yellow and orange leaves it would produce each Fall, so my Mom could look at them. Unfortunately by the time it was a couple of years old and changed colors, she had passed. I watch it begin to change and think how she would love it.
I saw a Halloween card created by a fellow demonstrator using the black tree in the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Wood Textures DSP as a fence or gate. It was very cute but it inspired me to use the Sheltering Tree stamp and make a fence using the Wood Crate Framelit. Of course there needs to be a few falling leaves.
I’d love to hear from you in the comments – what was or is your sheltering tree?
Paper Pumpkin Update
I saw a Facebook update from a fellow demonstrator who received her October Paper Pumpkin today. Adorable! I can’t wait to receive mine. For those of you who have subscribed – it is super cute! October uses the green plaid in the Merry Little Christmas DSP pack. I don’t want to spoil the surprise but wait until you see the cards and stamps!

Looking for a great tree background? If so, use the Woodland Textures Embossing Folder! Tonight in my live Stamping Short and Sweet on Facebook, I shared the use of the embossing folder to create this card. It is beautiful as is on Very Vanilla cardstock but I added a bit of Soft Suede to the branches and tree trunk to give it some texture in the background. I used the Sponge Daubers to apply the ink.
Visit my Facebook business page to see the technique.
The products I used are listed here. I used the sentiment from Labels to Love stamp set and the little leaf from the Colorful Seasons stamp set. I created the colorful leaves by using the Seasonal Layers Framelits. I used the new label punch from the Holiday Catalog.

Totally Trees – What was I thinking when I created the card and planned the post for today. This is a retired stamp set! But card was made and I had an appointment so you know what…we are going with it!
This was a great stamp set with various branches and then shapes for leaves.
I used Cajun Craze as the cardstock base and then ran Crumb Cake card stock through the Big Shot using Seaside Textures. When you run the lines vertically, they look like branches. The sentiment is from Painted Harvest Photopolymer stamp set.
Another lesson learned this week was my attempt to resize images. The thumbnail size is too small for posts read using a phone. Also I created a gallery of pictures instead of one beneath the other like those inserted today, those didn’t show up at all on a phone view but were fine when viewed online. So until I figure it out I will use a larger image for the card and thumbnail size for the products. If you didn’t see the product used yesterday, just revisit the post.
Thanks for joining me on this journey of posting every day! If you are enjoying it or see information that you think others might enjoy, I would really appreciate it if you would forward this post! Thanks for your support!

Trees are the theme of the week. Lovely As A Tree stamp set is probably the oldest returning set in Stampin’ Up! annual catalogs. Everyone loves it and we never want to see it retire! All of the stamps are simple and stately. It is versatile and can be used so many different ways. I’ve made sparkly trees, Christmas trees and used them as trees in the background. I’ve seen mirror image trees in the water, funky colored trees and as backgrounds for witches, Santas, snowmen, a variety of animals, balloons, cars and airplanes. I never tire of seeing new ideas with this set!
I used a border of Merry Little Christmas (green plaid), our new Designer Series Paper in the Holiday Catalog and used the Stitched Shapes Framelits as the border around my tree. I added a couple of thin gold foil strips of washi tape from the Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape bundle. The foil gold leaf is from the September Paper Pumpkin project kit.
Tomorrow I will share a card using the Totally Trees stamp set from our Annual Catalog.
