What’s staying, what’s not…it’s time for Stampin’ Up! to announce items that are going away, from the Holiday Catalog and those that are staying. I know, crazy right?! We just start making our Christmas cards. Well, you might be done, but I have to still make mine! I’ve been busy with a private stamp party, a Holiday vendor fair and Christmas Card workshop here in my craft area! But in the world of selling items, we are already focused on the new catalog that you will be able to order from in January. I can’t show you the inside of the catalog yet, only items I have purchased and created with. I have a few items and an order on the way, so stay tuned! Also, if you have ordered, your catalog will be on the way soon!
But, back to the Holiday Catalog… because I was busy with all those events, I have only posted on Facebook. So if you aren’t aware from visiting my site, Retired and Discounted items have been listed. They are while supplies last, so be sure to order. I am sure as we get close to the end of the month, some of those items on Retired will go to Discounted, but if you really love it, I would order now.
The Christmas Quilt is a stamp set that is retiring. I wasn’t going to order it but then saw so many pretty cards with it, I thought it would carry over. I am very surprised it is retiring! I can’t show you some of the Christmas designs I saw on Pinterest and worked with, because they were made in our Christmas Card workshop on Monday and I wouldn’t want to spoil a Christmas card surprise if you will be receiving one from one of my stampers. I also wanted to show the versatility of the card for other than Christmas cards. The inspiration was the afghan blankets my grandmother (Noni) used to crochet, she used the pattern that had all the little colorful squares (granny squares?) attached together. So while not a quilt, I thought I would give it a try. The framelit cuts out the outer edge of the flower and then I mixed and played with the inside petals. I would make it different the next time, probably a smaller Stitched Shapes framelit square so I could use a regular 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card base. I had to cut and score a bit odd to fit the squares, but here it is anyway.
The Painted Harvest set is going to be carried over, it was an extremely popular stamp set in the Holiday Catalog! We used it (and shared in previous posts) for autumn cards but I have seen holiday wreaths made, so I thought I would try that. I layered the top layer a few more times, slightly moving it, to make the wreath look fuller. I have listed all the products used below.

Stay tuned, I will continue to post some holiday ideas but I will begin to share some of the products from the new catalog. January is an exciting month because we can order all the new products but also it is the beginning of Sale-a-bration, the best opportunity to order FREE product from Stampin’ Up! For every $50 ordered, you select an item from the Sale-a-bration catalog but this year for every $100, you can either select 2 of the $50 options or one of the $100 options. It’s wonderful to have options. I will share some of the SAB items as soon as mine arrive!
I look forward to posting more again. The weekend was fun (but exhausting!) and I realized that stamping at Stamp Nights and blogging is more enjoyable for me. I love sharing ideas and stamping products with you!
